Many people are certain that aliens from outer space have visited Earth. They believe that there is enough evidence to support alleged UFO (“Unidentified Flying Object”) sightings, such as the incident of 1947 in Roswell, New Mexico. That’s why today is World UFO Day!

The idea of aliens has always spiked human curiosity. Our imaginations run wild when we think about the possibility of life in worlds outside of our own. It shouldn’t come as a surprise, then, that aliens have a prominent spot in Hollywood. A great way to celebrate World UFO day is to watch a science fiction movie. Some favorite flicks about extraterrestrials are "Star Wars,” "Signs" and "E.T.” If science fiction movies aren't your thing, dream up some intergalactic-themed crafts to make today, like a UFO-shaped cake!

No matter what you believe, today is the celebration of the possibility of life beyond Earth. So let your imagination soar and may the "force" be with you!

Extraterrestrial Visitor Day!

Extraterrestrial Visitors Day, a day "to celebrate and honor all past, present and future extraterrestrial visitors in ways to enhance relationships among all citizens of the cosmos, known and unknown." Passed as a memorial (not law) by the New Mexico state legislature in acknowledgment that ever since the Roswell UFO incident of 1947, New Mexico is recognized worldwide as a nexus of sightings and unexplained mysteries.

World UFO Day

Today is the anniversary of the supposed landing of the alien aircraft in Roswell, New Mexico. Though the government denies that such an event ever took place, many people speculate that aliens have indeed visited Earth.

Now good readers, I know you simply don’t believe that our government would ever, on purpose cover up something like Roswell or Area 51.  Or would they?  If you were ask Fox Mulder, who spent several years to uncover a government conspiracy to hide the existence.  Did you every wonder where the first 50 areas are located?

Do you believe in extraterrestrials?  Do you believe they have visited our blue planet call Earth?  My wife Pat and I both believe in extraterrestrials. David Morse tells Jody Foster in the movie “Contact”.

Ted Arroway: I don't know, Sparks. But I guess I'd say if it is just us... seems like an awful waste of space.

If you're up for it, celebrate World UFO day by renting a science fiction movie. Some of our favorite alien flicks are "E.T.", "Signs", "Alien", "Independence Day", “Contact”, and "Star Wars" to name a few. Think about all the books, articles, TV series and specials on UFOs/Extraterrestrials.

Whatever you choose to believe today is the celebration of the possibility that there is life beyond Earth.  Go have fun, and may the "force" be with you!
