Garfield the Cat

By Terry Orr

Garfield is a comic strip created by Jim Davis. Published since June 19, 1978, it chronicles the life of the title character, the cat Garfield (named after Davis's grandfather); his owner, Jon Arbuckle; and Jon's dog, Odie.  As of 2013, it was syndicated in roughly 2,580 newspapers and journals, and held the Guinness World Record for being the world's most widely syndicated comic strip. Our children, grandchildren, as was well as our cats enjoy watching Garfield.  Generally the first comic strip each day, cartoon programs watched often and a nice collection of movies all have been a big hit in our family.  Grandkids have collectables of this famous Cat.

One of the nice things about ties over the past decade or two have been the ever widening selection of ties to choose from.  So the last few years that I was working, my collection of unusual, funny, strange, etc. of ties grew – now taking up space in my closet.  In January, the month to get our act organized for the New Year, believe most of my ties will be donated.
